My Little Ballerina Girl
I open the lid to your legendary
Music box.
The globe in the sky
Reflecting kaleidoscopic prisms, the
Child’s colorful world.
White polkadots waltz
On a backdrop of a shimmering forest of air, striped
With rainbow ribbons of deep red orange and indigo.
Undulating over and under the lithe limbs of gazelles,
dancers in the trees.
I pirouette into your creation of
Flowy skirts and global rhythms,
Electric bass and bells,
Sideways smiles
Glissade across the darkening sky
While strobe lights flicker on and off.
Beckoning boughs
Signal seductively,
Join me where
Defying earthly matters
Are in the music.
You sashay through the
Blades of green gardens
And leap where the gazelles prance,
You tumble effortlessly
Leaves skipping along terraces
Lifted with the wind into
Passages packed with
Waves of light and sound.
